Kelsi Adele Spencer died unexpectedly on January 4, 2020 in Englewood, CO at the age of 25.

Kelsi was born on October 17, 1994 in Hastings, NE to Greg and Cindy Spencer. She graduated from Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN in 2018 with a degree in English Literature. After moving to Englewood, CO, Kelsi began working as a Middle School English/Writing Teacher.

Kelsi will be remembered for her love of classical literature, playing card and board games, hosting social gatherings, a witty sense of humor and her giving spirit. The strength and courage she displayed in fighting depression inspired all who knew her. Sadly, her pain became overwhelming but we remember and celebrate the joyous times that we had with her.

Kelsi is survived by her parents, Greg and Cindy Spencer of North Mankato, MN; sibling, Katie Rocha (Daniel), and niece, Nora Rocha, of Denver, CO; as well as many family and friends in CO, CA, FL, MN, AZ, NY, D.C. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lynn Trussell of Gurnee, IL and her paternal grandparents, Robert and Norma Spencer of Fridley, MN.

A Memorial and Remembrance Service is scheduled for 10:30 am Saturday, January 11, 2020 at New City Church, 2400 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80222. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kelsi’s life. Flowers can be sent to New City Church before 10:30 am on Saturday. Memorial gifts for the Spencer family may be sent to their home.

Kelsi Spencer was my dear friend during our elementary and middle school years. She honestly helped me through some troubling and dark times of my own, and she truly was a light in my young years. I will never forget our times playing with our American Girl Dolls or watching our favorite movies. I remember she loved the TV show 24, even though I had never watched it myself. We loved to play together in her family basement, and we had so many sleepovers. We even decorated her basement room with our own handprints when we painted the room. Kelsi, I wish I could have talked to you recently, but I don't have that chance now. You are resting dearly and peacefully with our wonderful Heavenly Father. Kelsi, you really touched my life. You were a light, and I know you impacted other's lives in a similar way. You are a beautiful soul, Kelsi. We will see you again, and until then, you will forever be a beautiful reminder in our hearts.
