Obituary

Denise Eidlen passed from this life on August 21, 2020. Denise was born in 1946 in Chicago to Robert and Regina Lackey. She grew up in Chicago, graduating from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's degrees in Biology. In 1972 she married her husband of 48 years, Larry Eidlen. She worked as a research laboratory technician for over 44 years at the University of Chicago, Notre Dame, The Jackson Laboratory and the University of Colorado helping to develop many of the clinical Immunology Tests used today. In 2002 she received a Master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Colorado to pursue her passion in Archeology. She did volunteer work for the Colorado Archeological Society as well as the Museum of Natural History. In 1984 she and her husband moved to the foothills where she enjoyed the mountains, wildlife, and forest.

Denise is survived by her husband, her sister and brother in law Joan and Marty Hollingshead, her nieces Laura Miller and Genie Weiss, a nephew Danny Hollingshead and their children. A memorial service was held at Highline Place to honor the staff who gave her great comfort and care in her last days.
