Obituary

Bryan Jay Reid, age 60, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019 in his home in Littleton, Colorado. He was born April 8, 1958 in Denver, Colorado to Charles and Betty Reid. Bryan graduated from Evergreen High School in 1976 and obtained a BA in History from the University of Northern Colorado. Bryan owned and operated Edwards Pipe and Tobacco Shop in Englewood, Colorado and developed long lasting relationships with many of his patrons.

Over the years, as Edwards expanded, it became much more than just a tobacco shop. It evolved into a true community, where men would smoke, chat and share life. Strong business relationships, as well as lifelong friendships resulted from this community atmosphere. Men who were down on their luck were given various means of assistance, including financial aid, until they were back on their feet. “A little piece of Heaven on Earth” is a phrase often used to describe the shop.

Bryan was an avid reader of military history and he loved to travel, both in the USA and Europe, to visit battlefields. His hobby of collecting antiques, especially military antiques, is reflected throughout the décor of Edwards as well as his home. He will be greatly missed by many.

Bryan is survived by his brother, Charles Edward Reid III and his son, Bryn Jacob Reid and Bryn’s wife, Stephanie.

Family, friends and others, whose lives Bryan touched, are invited to Three Trees Chapel at 13416 W. Arbor Place, Littleton, CO 80127 on March 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and of course, celebrate Bryan’s life.

Stopped by Edward's recently, after a long absence, and inquired about Brian. Received the body blow that he had died. Incredible shock! Brian was one of the good guys and gone way too soon. He had the most impressive ability to remember every name of his customers. He was a gentle soul, but with strong opinions. Had many very enjoyable conversations with Brian and he was the main attraction for coming to Edward's. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace my friend
