We strive to provide a transparent and compassionate service to all families at their time of need. Every cremation we perform adheres to our ten-step “Standards of Care”.
OUR STANDARDS OF CARE
Your loved one is transferred promptly into our care, by a certified staff member and immediately taken to our care facility.
On arrival at our care facility, a unique tag and cremation number are created; This cremation tag is then placed with your loved one throughout the custody and cremation process. This is how we are able to identify cremated remains after cremation occurs.
We promptly work to secure the physician’s or coroner’s signature on the death certificate, and we review the personal information on the certificate with you for accuracy before it is filed with the county Health Department. The Health Department then issues a permit to allow the cremation to move forward.
Once a valid cremation authorization is received from the person in charge (usually the next-of-kin) and a permit for cremation has been received from the county Health Department, we schedule the cremation. The Cremation is scheduled within 24 hours of obtaining the permit for final disposition.
The deceased is placed into the cremation container, and identification carefully attached.
After confirmation of identity by family member or staff, transfer to the crematory, identification is again checked and signed-off. Date and time of transfer to the crematory are carefully recorded.
An indestructible metal identification disk with a unique number is assigned to the deceased at the crematory. This disk is placed with the deceased in the cremation chamber, and remains with the cremated remains through cremation and final processing and is returned with the cremated remains.
The cremated remains are placed into the urn or container of your choice, along with the metal identification disk (which is again checked) and an identification tag.
Our staff receives the cremated remains from the crematory, and again checks the name and metal identification disk.
When the cremated remains are ready, we promptly ship the family or notify the person in charge and can schedule a time for pickup at our facility or can deliver to a place of your choosing.
