John Casey O’Hara

November 3, 1973 – January 3, 2017

John Casey O’Hara passed away on Tuesday evening, January, 3, 2017. He was born in Denver, Colorado and loved this state. Family knew him as John but he preferred “Casey”. He was a proud and strong full-blooded Irishman, an “old soul”,  wise beyond his years since he was a child. His soul was beautiful, bright and compassionate. He unconditionally loved his son, wife and family more than they will ever know.

Casey was a “Jack of all trades”! He wouldn’t let anyone work on his vehicles. He was so smart he could do anything, if he didn't know how he would teach himself. He was absolutely amazing, able to recite the dictionary definition of any word, and use it in a sentence for you if needed. He did everything from serving as a Fire Fighter & building beautiful homes in Lake City, CO to owning 2 successful businesses; Polymath Home Care, LLC and recently Casey’s Irish Meadows, LLC both in Colorado.

Casey had an exceptionally kind heart, he was selfless & giving to everyone. He was one of those rare men that would give someone his last $5 if he thought they needed it more than him. He was also the eternal jokester…always trying to make people laugh! He loved animals & they loved him even more. He was the most beautiful man inside and out.

Casey loved music, he played the piano beautifully and taught himself to play the guitar. He was definitely “Punk Rock” and took pride and owned being like no one else. This was a magical and rare human quality. It made him a unique, mysterious and an extraordinary man that we will not ever forget. He would tell you Pully, Sublime, Tool or maybe Five Finger Death Punch was his favorite band (and he loved all of these) but it was actually, Nirvana. He could also tell you who was playing the most beautiful classical piece as he stopped to listen on the radio. In addition, he liked to listen to it all, LOUD!

Casey loved traveling out-of the country. He was fortunate enough to have traveled to Mexico, Jamaica and in October of 2016 to Curaçao with Teresa’s family for vacation. He loved this place and told everyone he had the time of his life. He said after that trip, “You can't take a man out of the country & expect him not to be addicted to traveling!”

Casey is preceded in death by his Father, Michael Patrick O’Hara and his Uncle Jack Dooley. He is survived by his mother, Debbie Doty; stepfather, Matt Doty; sons; John O’Hara, Austin O'Hara and Ryan O'Hara; wife, Teresa (Weston) O’Hara; brother, Michael O’Hara; sisters (and their husbands); Maureen Nye (Tony),  Shannon Smith (Michael), Kelly O’Hara, Robynn Doty and Meghann Lawrence; niece, Evan Uttech; nephew, Riley Murphy; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Viewing Services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3:00pm – 4:00pm at Three Trees Chapel (13416 West Arbor Place, Littleton, CO 80127) and Memorial service at the Denver Buddhist Temple (1947 Lawrence Street, Denver, CO 80202) Friday, January 13, 2017 at 7:00pm.
